The world’s premier expedition race; The Eco-Challenge was held in Fiji in October 2002. This adventure race attracted seventy-four international expedition athletes from around the world. From impenetrable jungles to jagged limestone cliffs, from majestic tropical beauty to harsh rugged adventure, these world-class athletes raced through 500 kilometers of Fiji’s most impressive and untouched terrain: bushwhacking through dense jungles, mountain biking on rugged trails, paddling down jungle rivers, trekking onancient pig hunting trails to remote villages, climbing fixed ropes up raging waterfalls and exploring the uninhabited islands.
